Kampong Phluk, Cambodia. Dry season

Kampong Phluk is one of the many villages that border Tonlé Sap, “freshwater lake” in Khmer. A very poor village, about 30km from Siem Reap.

Two villages in one, a shifting landscape.

When the lake rises, dusty roads become canals, houses touch water. When the waters recede, pillars sustaining the houses become visible. People mend their nets and boats, waiting for the next wet season.
